NEW PORTABLE SERVER IS A PERFORMANCE HEAVYWEIGHT
August, 2003 -- Broadax Systems, Inc. introduces the lighter side of their recently introduced portable server family with the PServer V9. The V9 is a true portable server system fully self-contained and mobile with options for DC or AC power supplies. This new portable server comes with a wide range of hardware configurations and options to meet those unique situations where a fixed or large towering server is not an option such as tradeshows, multi-media conferences, quick field office setups, backup to servers in different locales, remote situations and other mobile locations.
The PServer V9 provides not only added mobility for servicing workstations and laptops on the go, but it provides a wide range of third party video cards to choose from. Options include an analog-to-digital conversion board, 8MB integrated ATI graphics controller, 16MB PCI graphics card, 32 3Dlabs Oxygen VXI PCI graphics card, 64 MB PCI VGA card, 32MB Dual head, 64MB GeForce4, and 128MB and 256MB AGP Video Adapters. All cards add to the high-resolution flat panel screens available in either a 15" or 15.4" TFT LCD from SVGA (1280x1024) to SVGA+ (1400x1050) resolutions.
The system deploys four drive bays for supporting single, multiple or RAID drive setups for excellent redundancy or backup – or simple, reliable data storage. The V9 also uses a vertically mounted DVD-R/DVD-RW, CD-RW combo.
The PServer V9 accommodates an extended ATX form-factor motherboard with support for two dual high speed CPUs up to 2.8GHz Intel Xeon processors on a 533MHz front side bus and up to 12GB of double data rate (DDR) PC3200 SDRAM for the most demanding of data intense graphic or video file sizes.
Each system includes a flexible large flat panel display, detachable keyboard with touch pad, and amplified speakers. Other features of the PServer V9 include a network ready dual port 100 Base Tx or 1000 Base Tx network interface card (NIC), a full range of 400 Watt ATX and DC power supplies for flexible input power, three 64-Bit PCI card slots for application flexibility and a padded transit case for added safety. The dimensions of the unit are 17.25" (W) x 13.25" (H) x 9.75" (D) and weighs in at approximately 30 lbs.
